Tierre Verde

Tierra Verde is a small island community on the southern tip of Pinellas County. What was once 15 islands covered in mangroves, pines, and bush, is now home to over 3,000 residents. Tierra Verde’s residents enjoy the nearest proximity to the internationally recognized Fort Desoto Park and beaches.

Neighborhoods on the island include single-family homes, waterfront low-rise condominiums, and waterfront or off the water townhomes. Canals throughout the island provide easy access for boaters into the Gulf of Mexico, Boca Ciega Bay and Tampa Bay. Its waterways are 150 to 350 feet wide and up to 15ft deep, scientifically engineered to have allow the Gulf’s tide to sweep the waterways clean. This provides its residents with ample fishing and dolphin watching opportunities.

In addition to being coastal, Tierra Verde has a very nautical feel, providing a leisurely, secluded environment on the water. Recommended local spots include Island Grille and Raw Bar, Tony and Nello’s, as well as Billy’s Stone Crab restaurant to enjoy the sunset at a roof-top bar. From the island you can easily grab a ferry to explore the wildlife and historic forts of Egmont Key, or enjoy the endless unspoiled beaches of Fort Desoto Park.

Tierra Verde’s real estate values continue to soar since the 1980s, making it a diverse and highly desirable neighborhood. If you are interested in learning more about Tierra Verde, contact me, or follow me on Facebook to keep up with the local developments!
